High Schools should make religion classes mandatory for students because it allows a student to see things in a different perspective and helps them have a bigger picture to certain situations in life, and most importantly it allows them to respect others. The first reason a student should be required to take a religion class in High School is because students will come across people in their life that will not share the same religious beliefs as them. A better functioning relationship starts with respect, and religion should be one of the primary factors that needs to be respected, specially in today’s world. Additionally, there are many types of religions in today’s world, which means different ways to handle certain scenarios. For example, what one religion thinks to be the right thing can turn out to be offensive to another religion. This is why it’s always important to have some knowledge so they won’t overstep someone else’s belief, or unintentionally disrespect them. In conclusion, I think the more we emphasize religion into a students life, the more effective their relationships with others will be.
