Break up time

When breaking up with somebody you should follow the recommendations given by the article Escape Plans. To begin with, the article recommends you do it away from home, but in a private place. This is very agreeable since you obviously don’t want to run the risk of your home being demolished by an angry and grieving person. But, you do want the break up to be something intimate and private, so a not so populated place will be great for the act. In addition, the article suggests that when it’s time to complete the task you make sure to use “you” statements and questions instead of “I” and “we”. Once again this is something you need to do if you don’t want the situation to fall apart. By using “you” in your statements and questions the situation is more mutual. It might even make the break up easier if they end up agreeing to the statements. In summary, a successful break up can be mastered by following the advice given by the article Escape Plans.

The two English courses you should take in college.

The two most important English courses you should take in college are Composition and Technical Writing. To begin with, Composition allows students to be better academic writers. This being said, taking a Composition course in college allows a student to have a better knowledge on how “college writing” should be. The idea of taking Composition is needed in order to successful in other English classes. Additionally, Technical Writing is also a very important course to take in college since it teaches a student how to write for the professional/ business world. Technical Writing is a skill you need to have in order to be a successful person in the future since it teaches you how to write memos, letters, emails, etc. In conclusion, both Composition and Technical Writing are courses you will use for the rest of your life, that’s what makes them so important.

Blog Topic 1

High Schools should make religion classes mandatory for students because it allows a student to see things in a different perspective and helps them have a bigger picture to certain situations in life, and most importantly it allows them to respect others. The first reason a student should be required to take a religion class in High School is because students will come across people in their life that will not share the same religious beliefs as them. A better functioning relationship starts with respect, and religion should be one of the primary factors that needs to be respected, specially in today’s world. Additionally, there are many types of religions in today’s world, which means different ways to handle certain scenarios. For example, what one religion thinks to be the right thing can turn out to be offensive to another religion. This is why it’s always important to have some knowledge so they won’t overstep someone else’s belief, or unintentionally disrespect them. In conclusion, I think the more we emphasize religion into a students life, the more effective their relationships with others will be.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
